In 1974 a collection of local parents gathered to battle the unmet needs of their children. These parents purchased a van for their children to be able to attend a school in the neighboring county since appropriate schooling was not available for them locally. This group wanted to make a change so they became an Arc member and opened a ce
In 1974 a collection of local parents gathered to battle the unmet needs of their children. These parents purchased a van for their children to be able to attend a school in the neighboring county since appropriate schooling was not available for them locally. This group wanted to make a change so they became an Arc member and opened a center where their children could be served in their own community. Sweet Owen Industries was opened to provide opportunities within Owen County as these children moved into adulthood. Sweet Owen Arc has grown over the years to include providing support to individuals in our day program facility as well as in the community and in their homes.
